Language courses
- People who have fled Ukraine have access to integration courses.

Work
- With a residence permit according to §24 of the Residence Act, people who have fled Ukraine receive an employment permit in Germany immediately.
- For this, they must register as seeking protection.
- Even a „Fiktionsbescheinigung“ (fictitious certificate) with the entry „employment permitted“ secures access to the labour market.
- Self-employment and employment are permitted
- Our counsellors will be happy to accompany you on your job search and support you in finding your way around the German labour market system, in your job search, in matters of residence law, in your application, in taking up employment and beyond.
- The Federal Employment Agency is responsible for job placement and job promotion. It has launched a hotline with language mediation for refugees from Ukraine: telephone number 0911 178 7915 (Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The call is not free of charge; charges apply for a call to the German fixed network. You can find more information here.
Training
- School-based or vocational training may also be taken up.
- Our counsellors will be happy to accompany you on your way to an apprenticeship.
Study
- Refugees from Ukraine with university entrance requirements may apply for or enrol in degree programmes in Germany.
- BAföG (state funding for students in Germany) opportunity opened for refugee Ukrainian students – The German government plans to open BAföG to refugee Ukrainian students with Section 24 of the Residence Act on June 1, 2022. To the press release of the German Student Union.

Driving licence
- The EU recognizes Ukrainian driving licenses from refugees, whon are granted residence on humanitarian grounds, such as under section 24 of the Residence Act. The regulation is valid until the 6th of March 2025 and has been in force since the 27th of July.
- The professional drivers licence is not recognized immediately. In order to receive a driver qualification certificate, an additional compulsory training of at least 35 hours and an examination at the responsible IHK (Art. 4 Para. 4 of the regulation) are required. The Federal Ministry of Transport is currently working together with the federal states, the Federal Motor Transport Authority, the Federal Printing Office and the DIHT to create the necessary procedures and legal bases for the temporary recognition of Ukrainian professional driver qualifications in Germany, which are required by the EU.
